COMMUNITY INDEPENDENT FOR ASHWOOD

People before
party.

ABOUT HITENDRA

Why I'm putting my hand up

I never set out to become a politician. My career has been in engineering, infrastructure and leadership. Over time, however, I have become increasingly convinced that communities need people in Parliament who are prepared to listen first, think carefully and put the interests of their local community ahead of a party agenda.

That is why I am standing as a Community Independent for Ashwood.

I believe being your elected representative is a responsibility, not a career path. If you choose me to be your local member, I will owe my first responsibility to the people of Ashwood.

For me, Ashwood is a community that is changing. New families are arriving. Young people are growing up and looking for opportunities. Older residents are thinking about their futures. And, like people everywhere, households are feeling the pressure of rising costs.

The issues we talk about in politics are therefore very real. Transport affects how easily you can live your life. Housing affects whether young people can stay near their families or their workplace. Community safety affects whether people feel comfortable in their own space. Local infrastructure affects the quality of everyday life.

These are not abstract policy questions. They are people’s lives.

“Being your elected representative is a responsibility, not a career path. If you choose me to be your local member, I will owe my first responsibility to the people of Ashwood.”

What I promise

I won’t pretend to have all the answers.

What I can promise is that I will turn up, do the work, ask questions, listen to experts and the community, and be accountable for the decisions I make.

Let's bring accountability back to Ashwood, together.
