Voices of Ashwood and Voices of Malvern invite you to an evening on one of the biggest questions facing our suburbs: how do we house more people without losing the green space and local character we value?
Most of the housing debate centres on planning rules, interest rates and migration. New national research points to a less-discussed brake on supply: the boom-and-bust cycle of the building industry itself, which drives up costs during booms and drives skilled trades out during busts.
Panel
- Andrea Sharam, Director, RMIT-AHURI Research Centre, who led recent national AHURI research on market volatility and housing supply
- Frank Rizzo, Managing Director, FTR Construction & Development, a residential builder of more than 25 years
- Hitendra Joshi, Independent Candidate for Ashwood, an electrical engineer with more than 27 years in engineering and infrastructure leadership
- Christina Zigouras, Independent Candidate for Malvern, a trained building designer
The panel will be followed by audience Q&A. Entry is free.
