26 August 2026 — Local engineer and long-term Mount Waverley resident puts his hand up to give Ashwood an independent voice.
Voices of Ashwood has selected local resident and engineer Hitendra Joshi as its community-backed candidate for the seat of Ashwood at the November 2026 Victorian State Election.
A strong local connection
Hitendra Joshi has lived in the Ashwood area for many years with his family. His children attended local schools, and he has been an active part of the community throughout that time.
Practical experience
An engineer with more than 25 years’ experience in infrastructure, leadership and complex decision-making, Joshi brings a practical, evidence-based approach to representing the electorate.
Doing democracy differently
Joshi is standing as a Community Independent, accountable to the people of Ashwood rather than a political party.
What matters to Ashwood
Early conversations with local residents have highlighted four issues that are already emerging as priorities for the campaign.
